Electrical Design Engineer - VR/31511

Currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer on a permanent staff basis for a global energy service company based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire.

   

The Electrical Design Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and validating innovative electrical engineering solutions.
  • Leading small to medium-sized design projects under the supervision of the Principal Engineer.
  • Preparing and checking engineering documents including drawings, manuals, reports, and calculations.
  • Participating in design and sales contract reviews, ensuring commercial implications are considered.
  • Carrying out cost estimates and ensuring designs meet budget and timeline requirements.
  • Supporting factory acceptance tests, site installations, and commissioning activities as required.
  • Implementing engineering change procedures effectively to minimise disruption.
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation and records.
  • Engaging in client meetings, ensuring customer needs are prioritised.
  • Contributing to engineering support functions by investigating and resolving technical queries.
  • Staying up to date with industry advancements and incorporate relevant innovations into designs.
  • Providing global support to other business units where required, including travel for client meetings and site activities.

         

Experience/Qualifications:

  • A degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar Electrical Design Engineer type role is essential.
  • Experience in the design and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems is essential.
  • Applicants should be proficient in EPLAN and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Applicants should have a working knowledge of PLM / PDM data systems and 3D CAD tools.
  • Experience in leading electrical design projects, within multi-disciplinary teams, would be preferred.
  • Knowledge of wireline intervention and completion products would be preferred.
  • Familiarity with wireline winches, masts and associated product designs would be preferred.
