Our oil and gas subsea client is looking for an Environmental Advisor on a 12-month maternity cover contract basis. The role is based in Westhill, Aberdeen or Sutton, London.

    

As the Environmental Advisor, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Group Environmental Director with environmental planning and strategy.
  • Influencing and promoting relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • ‘Horizon scanning’ for upcoming environmental legislation changes.
  • Promoting collaboration on environmental topics globally.
  • Preparing quarterly environmental communications and liaising with the Communications team to coordinate issues.
  • Identifying and managing environmental risks.
  • Primary owner of the single-use plastic database.
  • Assisting as required in response to environmental incidents and risks.
  • Preparing for future Environmental legislative requirements.
  • Providing environmental data compliance support and guidance to the Group and global teams.
  • Reviewing the environmental impact assessments and assist in developing mandatory minimum global standards.

       

Key Experience/Qualifications:

  • Degree/academic qualification, ideally in an environmental or related discipline.
  • Relevant years’ experience in environmental or sustainability function.
  • Membership of a recognised environmental professional body – e.g. IEMA (desirable).
  • Think effectively and be able to understand and work with various layers of the organisation and in a team.
  • Creative and result-oriented attitude (experience with Canva or similar is beneficial).
  • Strong networking, influencing, communication, presentation and analytical skills.
  • Passion for environment and sustainability.
  • Willingness to travel when required for the job.
