Join an oil and gas company looking for an Environmental/Waste Coordinator on a permanent staff basis.

     

As the Environmental/Waste Coordinator, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with current legislation in the transportation, handling, and disposing waste.
  • Ensuring that all waste received is in accordance with Waste Acceptance Criteria.
  • Ensuring that wastes are appropriately sorted, segregated, and stored in accordance with best practice and license conditions.
  • Reviewing waste transfer notes/consignment notes/duty of care paperwork.
  • Proactively engaging with SEPA.
  • Ensuring that WML and Modular (EASR) permit conditions are strictly adhered to.
  • Producing and submitting waste returns in accordance with license conditions.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Assisting with the development, promotion, and implementation of new waste management applications.
  • Collating statistics and produce reports.
  • Monitoring the quality and performance of waste services, including management of external suppliers.
  • Compiling incident reports.
  • Carrying out periodic inspections/surveillance of drainage system/tanks.
  • Carrying out emergency drills/tests.

     

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Degree/HND in Environmental Management, Waste Management or Equivalent.
  • Understanding of the Waste Hierarchy and Application of Principles.
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) Training Certification desirable.
  • WAMITAB qualification preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a demolition, waste management, oil and gas background preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • A full driving licence.
