Great opportunity to join a leading international energy services company in this newly created position. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Accountant looking to take the next step in their career.

      

As the Finance Lead, you will oversee a team responsible for executing month-end close activities. Your role will involve managing a group of Accountants to ensure precise accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of key financial data. This will enable the business to monitor performance, drive improvements, manage cash collection, and maintain governance across a portfolio of key client contracts.

      

Lead and manage a team of Accountants to deliver accurate and timely month end close activities including:

  • Calculating accruals, unbilled, and unearned entries in compliance with corporate deadlines and accounting standards.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts covering P&L to Gross Margin level including reimbursable labour, recovered in rate costs, lump sums, procurement, plant and equipment, plus other reimbursable, non-reimbursable and contract specific items.
  • Reporting and analysing the balance sheet, including unbilled, unearned, accounts receivable, and accruals, to ensure accuracy and identify improvements.
  • Analysing and improving Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Overseeing month-end close activities ensuring all results are complete accurately and on time.
  • Updating balance sheet review and backup files.
  • Forecasting – resourcing and supporting preparation and analysing annual budget, mid-year forecast and monthly rolling forecasts.
  • Supervising and managing the team, including objective setting, and performance management.
  • Collaborating with Finance Business Partners to train and develop Junior Staff, supporting trainee Accountants and creating development plans for career progression.

      

The ideal applicant will be:

  • Partially or fully qualified with a relevant professional body. Consideration will also be given to applicants with the necessary skills and experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting/business experience.
  • Some experience in team management and resource planning.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Competent in using ERP and forecasting systems.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
