TMM Recruitment has been appointed by a multi-national provider of software and technology services who are looking to appoint an ambitious Financial Controller.

A newly created role and part of a growing team, this position will sit in Aberdeen and the ideal candidate will be an experienced Finance Manager/ Controller with an F, P&A focus.  The successful candidate should be professionally qualified and experience in a service related business would be beneficial.  Working closely with the CFO this is an unrivalled opportunity to join an innovative business where you will play a key role in the company’s ambitious growth plans. 

         

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Preparing and analysing financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and managing the annual budgeting process. Collaborating with department heads to establish financial targets and monitor performance against budgeted goals. Preparing financial forecasts and providing recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Financial Analysis: Conducting thorough financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Interpreting financial data, providing insights, and making recommendations for improving financial performance and cost efficiency.
  • Internal Controls: Establishing and maintaining internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and preventing fraud. Conducting periodic audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of controls.
  • Cash Management: Managing cash flow and liquidity by monitoring cash balances, forecasting cash needs, and optimising working capital. Implementing cash management strategies to minimise borrowing costs and maximise investment returns.
  • Financial Planning: Developing long-term financial plans and strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Assessing financial feasibility and providing financial modelling and analysis to support business expansion, mergers and acquisitions, or other strategic initiatives.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and evaluating financial risks, such as market volatility, credit risk, or operational risk. Developing risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk exposure to ensure financial stability and minimise potential losses.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Staying updated with accounting principles, tax regulations, and other financial laws. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, filing financial reports, and coordination with external auditors or regulatory agencies.

         

Qualifications

  • Graduate qualified accountant with min 5+ years PQE.
  • Proven experience within a similar broad Financial Management or Controller capacity. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of best practice in relation to “best practice” PLC finance management. 
  • Obvious internal drive and self-motivation, structured and process-driven. 
  • A quick intellect with a mindset to develop innovative solutions, challenges the status quo 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Able to handle large amounts of information and detail in an organized, efficient manner. 
  • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities, advanced Excel skills with experience of building integrate financial models/business plans.
