A permanent opportunity is available to join a rapidly growing, private equity-backed energy services company. This newly created position offers the chance to become part of a friendly, dynamic team committed to providing development and career growth.

    

As Group Management Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow forecasts. You will provide variance analysis, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and contribute to the financial strategy of the business. In addition, you will oversee internal controls and provide mentorship to junior colleagues, ensuring the finance function operates efficiently and effectively.

         

Duties will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts within strict deadlines, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Conducting variance analysis on actual vs budget vs forecast, delivering insightful commentary.
  • Producing balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end close process.
  • Managing weekly rolling 10-week cash flow forecasts, ensuring financial stability.
  • Supporting the Group Financial Controller in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Overseeing VAT returns and liaising with Auditors to ensure a smooth annual audit process.
  • Implementing and maintaining robust internal controls, aligned with Group policies.
  • Providing training and guidance to junior finance team members, fostering development.

       

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified Accountant. Consideration will also be given to those qualified by experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across teams.
