Head of Marketing and Communications - VR/25026

Based at Head Office in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, the opportunity has arisen for the Head of Marketing and Communications on a permanent basis. Supporting multiple business units in the Energy Sector, industry experience in a similar role would be essential for this varied role. A background in media relations and crisis management would be advantageous for this role.

    

It is the purpose of this role to lead the businesses strategic communications and marketing plans. This role is pivotal in ensuring marketing and communications requirements are being successfully delivered across all business units.

     

Main Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Formulating marketing and communications strategy for both internal and external audiences.
  • Main point of contact for all marketing and communications activity.
  • Setting direction and manage a small communications, marketing and graphic design team, ensuring quality and timely output.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to self-development and developing team members, building long-term staff capability and competency in team.
  • Developing team members to ensure succession and key skills are in place.
  • Controlling all marketing activity relating to existing and new services.
  • Monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of all marketing/communication activity.
  • Managing relationship with nominated PR agency.
  • Managing and co-ordinating marketing campaigns.
  • Generating new leads and nurture them for the sales pipeline.
  • Providing support for new business through production of material and research.
  • Managing and controlling all social media activity.
  • Identifying and effectively utilising a range of channels to deliver successful results, including direct and digital marketing.
  • Providing accurate and timely management reporting as required to demonstrate key business metrics are being achieved.
  • Lead communications role for emergency response exercises or events that arise.
  • Acting as company lead for Charitable Donations and Sponsorships.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Proven track record in development and delivery of strategic communications and marketing.
  • Experience in crisis communications.
  • Media relations experience.
  • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills.
  • Ability to manage a number of different key projects and deliver them all on budget and on time.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
