An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. This is a permanent, full-time staff role, working 37.5 hours per week in a fully site-based capacity. As a key member of the HSE Team, you will support the ongoing development and implementation of the company’s health, safety, and environmental management systems.

     

The Role:
As HSE Advisor, you will play a vital role in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislative and company standards, and driving continuous improvement. You’ll be responsible for conducting audits and inspections, supporting incident investigations, and developing safe systems of work. You will also liaise with internal teams, clients, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

      

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and ISO standards (45001 and 14001).
  • Delivering safety support and advice to personnel at all levels.
  • Carrying out site audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend improvements.
  • Investigating incidents, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective action implementation.
  • Developing and review risk assessments including COSHH, Noise, and HAVS.
  • Monitoring and analysing safety observations, promoting engagement and resolving issues.
  • Supporting the collation and reporting of environmental data.
  • Maintaining statutory records and contribute to HSE-related meetings.
  • Delivering internal HSE training and inductions.
  • Updating electronic HSE management systems, such as Q-Pulse and IMS.

      

About You:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Internal Auditor qualification and formal accident/incident investigation training preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Previous experience in a similar HSE role within an industrial or engineering environment is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems.
