An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSE Advisor to join a leading organisation within the energy sector, supporting projects and operations across Aberdeen and offshore locations. This is a permanent staff role based in central Aberdeen working a 37.5-hour week with hybrid working.

   

The Role

As an HSE Advisor, you will provide health, safety and environmental support to the project management group and specific client projects. The role involves developing and implementing HSE plans, facilitating safety interface documentation, organising ENVID/HAZID events, conducting audits and inspections, and investigating incidents. You’ll also be responsible for monitoring project activities, evaluating compliance, and producing performance reports for project management.

          

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and implementing process assurance activities, including audits, spot checks, and document reviews.
  • Monitoring work planning activities and evaluating compliance with project and safety requirements.
  • Participating in project risk reviews and proactively address any issues identified.
  • Overseeing compliance with critical processes for onshore mobilisation, including personnel selection, equipment preparation, and management of change.
  • Supporting continuous improvement in HSE performance across assigned projects.

          

Skills and Experience 

Essential

  • Proven experience working on client projects within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong background in operations, projects, and turnarounds.

        

Desirable

  • Formal qualification in Health and Safety Management.
  • Valid offshore certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc.).

           

Key Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

        

Work Environment and Travel

  • The role is primarily based at the company’s central Aberdeen office and will require travel to other local sites to support business operations. Offshore travel to client assets may also be required.
