TMM Recruitment is partnering exclusively with a global provider of software and technology services to source an IT Manager with strong experience in a comparable position to join the team in Aberdeen on a permanent basis.

          

Responsibilities include managing IT support and operations, maintaining inventory, ensuring security, collaborating with vendors, overseeing cloud services, handling new joiner and leaver requests, compliance, handling security incidents, and driving continual improvement.

                     

Overview

The company are looking for a highly skilled and motivated IT Manager to oversee the information technology infrastructure and operations. As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day IT operations, ensuring the reliability and security of our systems and coordinating the commissioning and decommissioning of end user IT systems for new joiners and leavers respectively. You will collaborate closely with other departments to align IT initiatives with business goals, optimize technology usage, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

          

Duties and Responsibilities:

Internal IT Support:

  • Providing timely and efficient technical support to internal employees, addressing their IT-related queries, issues, and requests.
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems, diagnosing and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Serving as the point of contact for all internal IT support inquiries, providing excellent internal customer service and ensuring a positive user experience.
  • Managing and maintaining an inventory of IT assets, including computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals, ensuring their availability and proper functioning.
  • Administering user accounts, access privileges, and security settings, ensuring data confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
  • Conducting regular maintenance tasks, such as software updates, system patches, and antivirus scans, to ensure optimal performance and security of IT systems.
  • Collaborating with vendors and service providers to resolve complex technical issues, escalating problems when necessary and following up until resolution.
  • Creating and updating IT documentation, including FAQs, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures, to facilitate self-help and knowledge sharing among employees.
  • Staying informed about emerging technologies, software updates, and IT trends, providing recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation within the internal IT infrastructure.
  • Serving as the technical point of contact for the HR team, providing support and troubleshooting assistance for the HR management system (Rippling).
  • Managing IT budget and optimising the spend to achieve best economic value for the company.

                 

Oversight of Cloud-Based Services:

  • Managing and overseeing the utilsation of cloud-based services, particularly Microsoft O365 and MS Azure, ensuring their effective implementation and alignment with business requirements.
  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to define and implement cloud strategies, including migration, integration, and optimisation plans.
  • Intune configuration and policies.

                     

New Joiners and Leavers Requests:

  • Developing and maintaining a streamlined process for handling IT requests related to new joiners and leavers.
  • Coordinating with HR and other relevant departments to ensure IT requirements are fulfilled for new employees, including provisioning of hardware, software, user accounts, and access privileges.
  • Collaborating with HR to create onboarding IT documentation and provide necessary training or orientation for new employees.
  • Managing the offboarding process for departing employees, ensuring the retrieval of company assets, termination of access privileges, and data security measures.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to new joiners and leavers, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Collaborating with HR to ensure HR Management System (Rippling) is updated with starters / leavers.

            

IT Operations:

  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders to understand their technology requirements and align IT initiatives accordingly.
  • Managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and overseeing procurement of hardware, software and services.
  • Developing and enforcing IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.

                

ISO 27001 Compliance:

  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 standards and requirements related to information security management.
  • Implementing and maintaining security controls and processes to meet ISO 27001 technical requirements.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and address potential security threats.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure adherence to ISO 27001 policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring password management system (Keeper) is installed and maintained by all employees / contractors as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Information Asset Register and all the systems within it.

          

Security Incident Response:

  • Developing and implementing an incident response plan to effectively handle security incidents and breaches.
  • Leading investigation into security incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Coordinating with relevant stakeholders, such as legal, HR and senior management to address as mitigate security incidents.

                  

Continual Improvement:

  • Continuously assessing and improving the company’s information security posture in line with evolving threats and industry best practices.
  • Staying updated with emerging technologies, trends, and regulatory changes related to information security and recommend necessary updates and enhancements.

              

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience working in IT management roles with cloud-first organisations, managing Microsoft O365 and MS Azure technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and cloud computing.
  • Expertise in information security practices and protocols.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
