A newly created opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a well-established business within Aberdeen. This hands-on role will support site operations in Aberdeen and contribute to group-wide reporting, providing financial insights and driving process improvements across the business.

     

Part of a larger group with multiple entities and sites across the North East, the organisation has a strong reputation for quality and sustainability, the business continues to invest in its people, systems, and infrastructure to support future growth.

      

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the Finance Team’s capability and supporting senior leadership with robust financial information.

      

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing weekly and monthly management reports and variance analysis.
  • Extracting and interpreting data from a newly implemented system, creating clear, insightful reports for senior management.
  • Preparing and posting monthly journals and accruals.
  • Supporting internal and external audits.
  • Assisting with stock reporting and stock counts.
  • Creating and reviewing product costings and helping the business respond to fluctuations in costs and pricing.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Managing hourly paid payroll processing.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of financial reporting processes.
  • Providing ad hoc finance support across the wider team when required.

      

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Highly confident with systems and Excel.
  • Experienced in costing and variance analysis.
  • Commercially aware, curious, and proactive in improving processes.
  • A strong communicator who can push back and challenge constructively.
  • Hands-on, adaptable and eager to make a difference.
  • Experienced in FMCG or manufacturing (preferred) or with relevant experience in retail, trading or similar.
