Offshore Instrument Maintenance Technician (Ad hoc) - VR/15622
Currently recruiting for an experienced Offshore Instrument Technician for an Oil and Gas client.
Although this position is for the company’s Offshore Instrument Technician ad hoc pool, the successful candidate will be employed on a permanent salaried basis. This position will be either based on a Platform or FPSO in the North Sea and the client is ideally looking to take on a candidate who is available for an immediate start.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Carrying out planned maintenance in accordance with the requirements of the planned maintenance system.
- Assisting with the coordination of spare parts requirements and the optimisation of spares stack levels.
- Carrying out unplanned maintenance as required.
- Minimising downtime and contributing to the achievement of production targets
- Preparing technical reports as required.
- Fault finding and rectification for instrumentation systems.
- Carrying out isolations of instrument and control systems.
- Holding special responsibility for the maintenance of fire and gas detection and alarm systems.
- Carrying out inspections and maintenance of instrumentation equipment in hazardous areas.
The following Qualifications / Training are essential for this role:
- Recognised Instrument Apprenticeship or equivalent training scheme.
- HNC in Control / Instrumentation Engineering.
- NVQ / SVQ Level 3 certification or equivalent in Maintenance.
- COMPEX (Hazardous Areas).
- A current SBT01&02 or TSBT01&02 qualification.
- Current and valid Offshore Certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, EBS and Shoulder Measurements).
The following experience / knowledge is essential for this role:
- Prior experience within a specific Offshore Instrument Maintenance Technician post within the North Sea.
- Experience with hydrocarbon / industrial production systems and associated hazards.
- Experience of process instrumentation.
- Experience of process control systems.
- Experience with fire and gas detection and ESD systems.
- Experience of working with cause and effect logic diagrams.
- Familiarity with the permit to work system and isolation procedures.
- Experience of carrying out work-site inspections.
- Experience of carrying out routine, corrective, breakdown and condition based maintenance.
- Experience of carrying out fault finding and installation, isolation and re-instatement of offshore equipment.
- Possessing the ability to read, interpret and mark up instrumentation technical schematic drawings to as built status.
