Our client is looking for 6 Offshore/Offsite Hose Surveyors/Inspectors on a permanent basis. Candidates MUST possess a Mechanical or Inspection background. Experience in Hose Inspection is desirable but not essential. Offshore experience is advantageous but not essential. ONC/HNC/HND Engineering discipline or Mechanical Engineering or Inspection Qualification are all desirable. This is not a rotational position, it is a regular ad-hoc role and candidates should be expected to work in the region of 210 days per annum.

Purpose of Job:

Integrity Management is a key service provided by the organisation.  The role of the Hose Surveyor is to provide an accurate, timely, efficient and effective hose inspection service to the customer at their onsite or offshore facilities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Operationally:

  • To visually inspect customers' hoses and fittings, onsite, in line with the Company's inspection procedures.
  • To inspect and record the hose condition, type and fittings, in line with procedures.
  • To assess the suitability of the FHA for the application it is being used for, and to recommend changes as appropriate.
  • To apply identity tag and to register each hose as per procedure.
  • To complete all documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • To input survey results into the company database.
  • To submit a report with details of unsatisfactory FHAs to the customer's representative, and recommend possible solutions, where applicable.
  • To write and submit an End of Survey report.
  • To ensure the accurate completion and submission of timesheets.
  • To recommend possible solutions to problems identified with the customer FHAs, applications or operating procedures.

HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality):

  • To ensure that work is completed in line with the Company's Quality procedures and Customer specifications.
  • To ensure that work activities are executed in accordance with the Company's HSE Management System and, when onsite or offshore, in accordance with the customer's site rules.
  • To participate and assist with internal and external safety and quality audits.
  • To adopt and promote good and safe working practices at all times.
  • To ensure that work areas are maintained clean and hazard free and in accordance with Company and customer rules at all times.
  • To ensure that risks are assessed and risk assessments completed, where applicable.

Continuous Improvement/Personal Development:

  • To develop and maintain effective working relationships with the operations team and key interfaces within other departments.
  • Responsible for supporting and achieving the organisation and department's targets and objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding, agreeing and achieving personal objectives set by line manager.
  • To put forward any suggestions for improvements.
  • To attend formal Information Briefings, when requested.
  • To be a team member and actively promote communication and information sharing.

Qualifications

Desirable:

  • ONC/HNC/HND Engineering discipline.
  • Mechanical Engineering or Inspection Qualification.

Experience Required

Essential:

  • Working within a service industry with a keen focus on, and compliance with, QHSE policies.
  • Previous experience of mechanical or hydraulic engineering.
  • Previous experience of working within an environment that requires strict adherence to processes and procedures.

Desirable:

  • Carrying out or participating in NDE activities.
  • Experience of Hose Inspection.
  • Experience of flexible hose assemblies, threads and fittings.
  • Previous experience of working offshore.

Skills/Training Competences
