Operations Advisor - VR/31255

Currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Advisor on a contract basis for an E&P company based in central Aberdeen. It is a contract position through until the end of December 2025, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.

     

Working within the Production Operations team and reporting directly to the Operations Lead, the Operations Advisor will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Accounting for the development of operating integrity framework and its assurance and governance processes.
  • Ensuring best practice execution of operations within the company’s operated assets.
  • Providing subject matter expert input across the full lifecycle of all operated assets.

     

  • Standard and Process Setting:
    • Leading the refresh of a Permit to Work (PtW) process and safe isolation and reinstatement of plant processes – both the development and coordination of the embedding.
    • Leading the update/enhancement to the electronic permit to work system, including effective MoC and any required procedural changes.
    • Leading the introduction and required MoC for an electronic handover and control of temporary equipment tool.

     

  • Operations Skill Pool Development:
    • Working with the Training and Competence Team, drive improvements in the effectiveness and efficiency of the T&C process for operated assets. A key focus is on how to measure status of T&C across shifts.
    • Maintaining an active cross asset operations integrity forum.

     

  • Production Operations:
    • Providing support and objective input to any complex production operations issues or threats across the operated assets.

      

Experience/Qualifications:

  • A degree qualification would be preferred.
  • Current/valid offshore certification would be preferred.
  • Extensive operations supervisory/management experience within the North Sea Oil and Gas industry is essential.
  • Experience of working in a similar role, directly with an Operator/E&P organisation, is essential.
  • A good understanding of operational management, as well as operations readiness and assurance, is essential.
  • Applicants should have a strong understanding of major hazard legislation and its implication for operational controls.
  • Applicants should have a strong understanding or process safety management and the practical applications of an operating integrity framework.
  • Applicants should have experience of leading and influencing large operational teams within major accident and hazard environments.
