Operations Environmental Advisor - VR/31875
Seeking an Operations Environmental Advisor to join an established operator within the UK offshore energy sector in Aberdeen. This is a temporary PAYE contract role, expected to run for a duration of 12 months. This is the perfect role for an Environmental Advisor looking for a new challenge, or an experienced Coordinator ready for a step up.
The role is based within the onshore-based HSE&A Team in Aberdeen. Reporting directly to the Manager ESG & ER, this role plays a key part in supporting environmental compliance, performance improvement, and the delivery of environmental programmes across operations.
The position maintains independence from direct operational activities while acting as a focal point for providing impartial environmental advice, support, and challenge to operational teams and fellow HSE&A professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing sound technical environmental advice to operations to support legal and regulatory compliance.
- Actively engaging with regulatory bodies and support regulatory inspections, submissions, and close-out actions.
- Supporting the continual improvement of environmental performance through identification and leadership of improvement programmes.
- Maintaining and improving elements of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Supporting preparation and submission of environmental permits, consents, and regulatory returns.
- Providing subject matter expertise to risk assessments, incident investigations, management of change, and improvement projects.
- Conducting offshore compliance visits.
- Compiling, analysing, and submitting environmental data and reports internally and externally.
- Delivering effective environmental communications across the organisation.
- Supporting and engaging with offshore Environmental Representatives.
- Participating in emergency response activities, including training, exercises, drills, and rota.
- Representing the organisation at relevant industry meetings, workshops, and conferences.
- Providing cover and support to the Manager ESG & ER and other Environment and HSE Advisors as required.
- Carrying out all duties safely, cost-effectively, and in line with HSE&A policies and organisational values.

Qualifications & Training:
- Environment or STEM-related degree and/or a minimum of 1 year industry experience in an environmental role.
- Audit qualification.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience working in the HSE field within UK Oil & Gas operations and/or projects.
- Experience developing and implementing Environmental Management Systems.
- Strong knowledge of UKCS offshore environmental regulatory requirements.
- Audit and incident investigation experience.
- Strong communication, organisational, and facilitation skills.
- Understanding of offshore operations and applicable environmental legislation.
