The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the company. The primary responsibility will be to ensure that all operational policies and activities align with the company's goals for business growth, cost efficiency, retention, sustainability, and profitability. This role oversees all operational aspects of the business, ensuring compliance with legislation and promoting environmental responsibility, health, safety, and welfare.

      

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Developing and implementing operational policies that meet business growth, cost efficiency, retention, sustainability, and profitability targets at a strategic level.
  • Operational Management: Ensuring efficient running of all operational aspects in compliance with legislation, promoting environmental responsibility, health, safety, and welfare.
  • Quality and Safety: Embedding an effective quality management system and safety culture within the organisation to drive continual improvement and deliver superior value to all stakeholders.
  • Commercial Development: Promoting the commercial advantages of the company's services through the development of operations across the UK.
  • Fleet Management: Managing the operational fleet cost-effectively, adhering to Operational Excellence and 5-year unit hire projections.
  • Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance: Collaborating with the UK HSE Manager to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental management systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Leading continuous improvement initiatives in safety, sustainability, productivity, efficiency, cost, and quality.
  • Cost Management: Managing operating costs, seeking unit cost reductions, and efficiency increases through best practices, technology adoption, and challenging current methodologies.
  • Staff Management: Ensuring productive management of operations staff through development, education, mentoring, and encouragement of innovation.
  • Staff Development: Supporting staff development and upskilling to promote best cost, flexibility, retention, service provision, and succession planning.

          

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strategic thinker capable of identifying opportunities and developing detailed proposals for Board consideration.
  • Superior management and organisational skills with a proven ability to lead a team in achieving strategic goals.
  • Significant experience of operational management and general commercial experience.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in report writing and data analysis.
  • Highly computer literate.
