Project Leader - Flare Gas Recovery System - VR/26605
Currently recruiting for an experienced Project Leader - Flare Gas Recovery System on a contract basis for an E&P Company based in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. The contract will likely last for circa 3 years and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role. It is a new project position, and the post holder will be working as part of the overall Carbon Footprint Reduction campaign.
The Project Leader will be responsible for the safe delivery of all aspects of the PUQ Flare Gas Recovery System (FGRS) project across the project lifecycle, including FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, handover to operations and project close-out. The Project Leader is the single point contact for the Asset and HSE Directors for all aspects of the FGRS Project.
The project includes three main phases:
- FEED
- Detailed design, construction and commissioning.
- Close-out – complete technical and commercial close-out of project.
Reporting to the Projects & Engineering Manager, the Project Leader will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Accountable for ensuring all aspects of the FGRS pipeline re-configuration project, both pre and post FID, are delivered within project HSE and quality targets, and with appropriate assurance undertaken through project reviews / peer assists as defined in the project quality plan.
- Ensuring a contract strategy and execution plan is in place, and adhered to, for all aspects of the FGRS roject.
- Post sanction, ensuring that the project statement of requirements are met and completed within budget and timescale.
- Responsible for ensuring all activities are undertaken in accordance with company rules and group specifications and where required, submit derogations with support from TA’s and SME’s.
- Ensuring decisions are made in full understanding of asset integrity, process and functional safety and major accident hazard management, demonstrating to the wider business that risks from major accident hazards are being managed.
- Accountable for providing regular project reports including cost and schedule progress updates and manpower requirements against approved budgets – highlighting key challenges and providing solutions to mitigate.
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to partners and OneTech, and seeking assistance from wider company, as required, to expedite resolution of issues and / or remove blockers.
- Embedding a collaborative working culture based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and maintenance of a high level of asset integrity to ensure a top quartile safety performance on the FGRS project with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring employees, contracted staff and contractor personnel are competent, properly supervised and are aware of the relevant systems of work and procedures through the sharing of best practice and technical innovations.
- Ensuring project is delivered in compliance with the project delivery process, and a smooth transition of project delivery to operations and close out is completed incorporating lessons learned and REX’s relevant to the project.
- Ensuring verification activities are managed with IVB.
- Ensuring the interfaces between project / contractors / Operations Teams are successfully managed for efficient delivery of project work scopes through open and honest communication and active engagement with relevant parties around safety, quality, delivery and performance.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A relevant engineering degree qualification is essential.
- Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar Project Leader type role, within the oil and gas industry, is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an E&P company / operator, would be preferred.
- Applicants should have an array of offshore project management skills, covering technical, cost control, planning and contracts.
- Proven leadership experience of working on a major project within the UKCS is essential.
- Applicants should have a deep understanding of process and functional safety.
- Applicants should possess a strong working knowledge of engineering disciplines, associated technical standards, processes and relevant legislation.
