Project Manager (Controls Improvement Projects) - VR/27158
Currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager (Controls Improvement Projects) on a contract basis for an E&P Company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. The initial contract will run through until the end of December 2024 and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role. Hybrid working will be available - the successful candidate will be expected to work a minimum of 3 days in the office.
The successful candidate will provide project management expertise and leadership to ensure the successful delivery of the Asset’s Controls Improvement Project. This project is a key part of the Asset Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) Strategy, which has been developed to ensure that the system continues to provide safe and stable operations through to Cessation of Production. This role is suited to a candidate who has a strong control & instrumentation background, as well as experience of managing ICSS vendors and project management. Previous operator experience is essential.
The Project Manager (Controls Improvement Projects) will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Managing technical studies and implementing upgrade or replacement systems.
- Understanding the key decision points and assess high level options and risk for different implementation strategies.
- Managing the preparation of key deliverables to satisfy CSGP process requirements.
- Collaborating with the supply chain to understand latest offerings and market intelligence to ensure cost and schedule opportunities are maximised.
- Conducting regular reviews of project’s cost estimate and schedule with deviations occurring only by formal management of change process.
- Supervising application of risk / opportunity management and management of change processes, along with management of change.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A relevant degree qualification would be preferred.
- TUV Certified FS Engineer qualification and detailed knowledge of IEC-61511 lifecycle is essential.
- Previous control and instrumentation engineering experience, within the oil and gas industry, is essential.
- Experience of managing ICSS vendors and project management experience is essential.
- Previous operator experience is essential.
- ICSS systems background is essential. Experience with ABB, Honeywell and Yokogawa products would be preferred.
- Previous experience of systems upgrades, particularly on large brownfield installations, is essential.
