Currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager (Decommissioning / Offshore Construction) on a permanent staff basis for an Aberdeen based Oil and Gas client.

Reporting into the Operations Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of medium sized projects.  The Project Manager will be expected to carry out the following duties:

  • Establishing the project execution plan relevant to each contract and including definition on project objectives and strategies, work scope, risk and opportunities, overall work plan and schedule, financial plan, quality and safety requirements.
  • Leadership of the Project Management Team.
  • Preparing regular contract progress and cost reports.
  • Coordinating work duties to employees and Service Providers.
  • Ensuring the project is running on time and to budget.
  • Dealing with changes to the project.
  • Writing project management documentation such as Project Execution Plans, Quality Plans, Health and Safety Plans, Stakeholder Management Plans.
  • Liaising with the client and relevant stakeholders
  • Regular offshore site visits to Platforms and FPSO.
  • Contract administration and interfacing with the HR Team.
  • Supporting tendering operation and participating in reviews for strategy and final pricing, as well as conducting contractual reviews.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Prior project management experience of offshore construction and decommissioning projects within the Oil and Gas Industry is essential. Predominately drilling focused project management experience is not what the client is looking for.
  • The client are looking to take on a candidate who has circa seven to ten years’ worth of specific project management experience.
  • Prior experience of supporting / managing an offshore workforce (Welders, Mechanics, Electricians etc) is essential for this role. The Project Manager will be required to support the offshore workforce through providing guidance when technical issues arise.
  • Prior experience of working with both an Operator and a Major Service Contractor would be highly desirable.
  • Experience of working offshore would be advantageous and occasional offshore travel will be a requirement for this position, therefore candidates must be willing to work offshore.
  • International travel may also be possible so applicants must be prepared to do this as well.
  • Applicants are expected to be qualified to Degree level, preferably within Engineering, Science or Project Management.
