A Purchaser is required on a permanent basis for a reputable service company based in Portlethen. This is a full-time role with the offer of hybrid working.

     

As Purchaser, you will be responsible for the procurement of materials and services ensuring these are carried out in an economically advantageous, timely, cost effective and ethical way.

      

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Purchasing in a sound and ethical manner in accordance with requirements.
  • Preparing and issuing enquiries to suppliers and verifying that purchase requisitions are complete.
  • Reviewing and analysing supplier quotations in conjunction with internal asset-team stakeholders.
  • Organising and chairing pre-and post-award clarification meetings with suppliers.
  • Preparing bid evaluation, negotiating pricing, lead times and recommending best commercial options.
  • Performing desk expediting activities as required.
  • Preparing and issuing a weekly status report showing the status of all purchase transactions.
  • Coordinating visits of Suppliers to locations for installation, commissioning, repair, support and warranty activities.
  • Reviewing and verifying invoices in a timely and accurate manner in conjunction with the assigned Invoice Administrator.
  • Administrating Purchase Orders and related correspondence correctly.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Managing conflicts and default situations with Suppliers in close conjunction with asset stakeholders and Section Head Procurement as appropriate.
  • Interfacing and aligning with other sections and departments with reference to scope definition, regulatory compliance, certification, transport and logistics.
  • Ensuring final close out of orders including the performance evaluation of suppliers.

      

Applicants to this role require:

  • Demonstrable commercial and purchasing experience in a similar position within oil and gas operations.
  • Sound knowledge of procurement processes, incoterms and HMRC import and export customs regulations.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with English Law, negotiation of PO terms and conditions, common EU and UK Equipment Directives, international standards (ISO) and their related certifications.
  • Good business-based communication skills.
  • Maximo experience desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
