Join an engineering and fabrication company that has been in business for over 100 years! They are looking for a QA Administrator on a maternity cover contract basis, to join their team in Altens, Aberdeen. Previous experience in a similar role is essential as the successful candidate will have to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.

       

Reporting to the QHSE Manager, as the QA Administrator, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Liaising with clients in regards to third party inspection activities.
  • Reviewing vendor NDT certification for accuracy.
  • Ensuring material test certification has been completed accurately and fully and advises appropriate party of certification which has been rejected.
  • Producing MRBs (documentation packages).
  • Managing client supplier document register Lists (SDRL) and documentation submissions.
  • Liaising with welding inspector in regards to monitoring welder qualification matrix's and collating all information for third party 6 monthly approval process.
  • Marking up weld identification / weld maps.
  • Liaising with clients in regards to WPS changes.
  • Assisting welding inspector with administration of WPSs.
  • Reviewing NDT and coating procedures.
  • Reviewing and accepting sub-contractor NDT reports.
  • Reviewing and accepting sub-contractor paint reports.
  • Submitting WPA forms for approval.
  • Assisting QHSE Manager with internal and vendor audits as required.
  • Ensuring all quality records are kept up to date at all times.
  • Archiving QA records in an appropriate timeframe.
  • Producing QA reports from the system as required in conjunction with client specific requirements.
  • Carrying out all activities in accordance with the companies QHS&E management systems and policies at all times.

      

Experience / Qualifications:

  • HNC / apprenticeship in an engineering / fabrication discipline or equivalent work experience is highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a QA support / administration role would be preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of NDT / test certification and material certificate requirements would be preferred.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication drawings would be preferred.
  • Excellent IT literacy is essential.
