QA Advisor - VR/30669
Join an innovative and dynamic subsea company in Portlethen as a QA Advisor on a full-time permanent staff basis and drive excellence in project documentation and compliance! You'll manage certifications, compile key documents like MRBs, MMPs, and ITPs, and enhance the integrated management system. With a focus on HSE Legal and Regulatory compliance, you'll ensure the highest standards are met. The company are offering a 37.5-hour week, with hybrid working available.
Key responsibilities:
- Attending and actively contributing to project kick-off and pre-production meetings to ensure QA requirements are clearly defined and understood.
- Developing and implementing project-specific quality plans.
- Collating and compiling Certification Data Books/MRBs for submission to clients.
- Ensuring full compliance with client requirements.
- Reviewing and approving supplier documents, including Inspection and Test Plans, MRB indexes, and certifications.
- Evaluating material certifications, welding, NDE, and other special processes.
- Assisting with the preparation, review, and final approval of work packs.
- Identifying and raising lessons learned, quality observations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinating and delivering quality inductions and awareness programmes, supporting the development of quality initiatives.
- Collaborating with project teams to escalate quality issues and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations as required.
- Monitoring and analysing quality statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Providing assurance for the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Supporting the execution of the audit schedule in line with IMS and project requirements.
- Maintaining the IMS in compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Managing the non-conformance process, ensuring outcomes and lessons learned are documented.
- Collaborating with the QA Team to develop standardised documents and assessments.
- Identifying and promoting positive performance trends, highlighting concerns, suggesting improvements, and recognising positive behaviours.
- Undertaking additional tasks, mini-projects, and providing support to other functions when needed.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Quality Professional in project and operational environments.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines effectively.
- Current industry knowledge with a willingness to further expand and develop expertise.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality standards, including ISO 9000 Series and ISO 10005.
- Basic knowledge of NDE practices, welding, and pressure testing.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive approach, offering solutions rather than just identifying problems.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and willing to embrace new challenges.
- Analytical and systematic working style with proven problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing COSHH processes.
Education and Certifications
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certification (Essential).
- Experience in maintaining an Integrated Management System (Essential).
- Proficient in the creation and review of Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs) or Data Books (Essential).
- Experience in the creation and review of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) (Required).
- Demonstrated experience in a project-driven environment (Essential).
- Experience with creating and implementing Risk Assessments (Desirable).
- Background in document control (Desirable).
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and improvement projects (Desirable).
- Formal qualification in Quality Assurance (Desirable).
- Root Cause Analysis training (Desirable).
- IOSH Managing Safely certification (Desirable).
