TMM Recruitment is working with one of the most prestigious Energy companies in the North East to source a Real Time Data Engineer on a permanent basis. As an expert in Hydrocarbon Management Systems (HMS) and Real Time systems, the right candidate for this role will have experience and in-depth knowledge of managing support, development, and testing of business applications along with strong third-party management skills.

    

Purpose of Role:

  • The HMS & Real Time Data Engineer is responsible for supporting the product portfolio of Hydrocarbon Management Systems (HMS) and Real Time applications from both a run and build perspective.
  • The role ensures that applications are maintained and developed in line with product roadmaps with lifecycle planning.
  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and HSEQ procedures.

           

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence Level

  • Delivering application support related BAU services to the company.
  • Developing and enhancing existing technical skills, and working with third party vendors to ensure services are developed, enhanced, and supported.
  • Maintaining systems documentation, ensuring knowledge base articles and IS guides are up to date.
  • Working closely with training providers to ensure course material and handouts are up to date to reflect the courses delivered.
  • Ensuring that all processes, procedures, and work instructions are clearly defined to help improve reliability, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness of service components under supervision.
  • Maintaining interfaces and information flows between HMS, PI and other external system.
  • Actively participating in change management processes by working closely with key stakeholders in the business and IS, and by providing expert technical guidance.
  • Developing, deploying, and managing solutions to meet defined business specific needs as defined through the product maps/lifecycles.
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with all IS related processes, policies, and work practices.
  • Ensuring events and demands are dealt with within agreed SLAs.
  • Driving development activity either via the product lines or project frameworks.
  • Assisting the Application Supervisor in developing future planning and product roadmaps.
  • Developing, deploying, and managing solutions to meet defined business specific needs as defined through the product maps/lifecycles.
  • Acting as technical lead in business-critical upgrades.
  • May be required to provide out of hours support via an on-call rota.

            

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of managing support, development, and testing of business applications.
  • Strong on documentation, processes, and a determined finisher, capable of handling the day-to-day operational pressure.
  • Specialist in HMS & Real Time Data systems, specifically EnergySys, and OSI PI products.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills to be able to juggle multiple issues and changing priorities.
  • Continued desire to develop own expertise and knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to liaise with various areas of the business to gather requirements for enhancements and to determine if they will add value to the business.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team taking responsibility in part or in full for the delivery all HMS and Real Time Systems and changes.
  • Experience and knowledge of cloud application services.
  • Demonstratable experience of working with a diverse and multi-national application vendor support model.
  • Strong third-party management skills, working closely with multi sourcing and vendor managers.
  • Responsible for ensuring IS operational capabilities achieve regulatory or statutory compliance requirements.
