Currently recruiting for an experienced Reservoir Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. It is a 6-month contract position, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role. The Reservoir Engineer will be responsible for the planning and execution of wells for operated assets.

    

The Reservoir Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Constructing and updating reservoir simulation models, in close cooperation with geomodellers.
  • Performing dynamic uncertainty analysis and history matching.
  • Optimising drainage and injection strategies in collaboration with G&G, production technology and facilities engineering.
  • Initiating and managing external reservoir technology special studies (PVT, SCAL etc.).
  • Evaluating the impact of new technologies and IOR initiatives on recoverable project volumes.
  • Participating in the planning and evaluation of data acquisition programs for exploration, appraisal, development and CO2 injection wells.
  • Contributing to digitalisation and simplification initiatives.
  • Participating and sharing in licence meetings with external stakeholders including partners and authorities.

    

Experience / Qualifications:

  • A degree qualification in a relevant subsurface discipline is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar Reservoir Engineer type role, directly with a North Sea-based E&P company / operator, is essential.
  • Applicants should possess a proven track record in contributing to the development and optimisation of large-scale, operated assets.
  • Experience within the following areas would be advantageous:
    • Subsea and tie-back developments.
    • IOR initiatives and modelling of advanced wells.
    • Data analytics, visualisation, and programming.
    • Characterisation and simulation of CO2 injection.
    • HP/HT.
