Currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Designer / Draughtsperson on a permanent staff basis for an engineering consultancy based in central Aberdeen. The post holder will work a 37.5-hour week and hybrid working opportunities will be available.

    

The Senior Designer / Draughtsperson will deliver completed drawing packages to the Project Team, which will have undergone the full check / review / approval cycle.  The successful candidate will provide general draughting support to both the team and clients.

       

Reporting to the Lead Draughtsperson, the Senior Designer / Draughtsperson will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervising Draughtsperson / Trainee Draughtsperson assigned to project.
  • Producing full range of drawings applicable to subsea and decom work.
  • Producing schematic, procedural and detail manufacturing drawings for project teams in accordance with company, British or international standards.  
  • Performing draughting checks on drawings produced by others.
  • Developing and maintaining the company’s Drawing Office QA procedures.
  • Liaising with customers and/or sub-contractors, as required by the project.
  • Attending design review / project meetings as required.
  • Liaising closely with engineers to ensure correct interpretation of engineering requirements.
  • Preparing sketches to support engineering documents / meetings.

      

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Experience in preparing detail drawings for design and fabrication and preparation of MTO is essential.
  • Applicants should have experience in producing different types of drawings, such as seabed layouts and approaches, isometrics, schematics, fabrication, sea fastening, deck plans, rigging, storyboards etc.
  • Experience with Autodesk software, including AutoCAD and Inventor, is essential.
  • An understanding of bolted / welded connections would be desirable.
