Senior Electrical Engineer - VR/31481

Currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. It is an initial 6-month contract position, with possible scope for extension, and it is being offered on a PAYE basis.

   

Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer, the Senior Electrical Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the development of strategies for the maintenance, inspection and operation of plant / equipment to ensure that all plant and equipment meets continued assurance, verification and compliance requirements.
  • Applying LEAN process to optimise maintenance.
  • Issuing and reviewing the required PM master data changes to optimise the preventive maintenance activity.
  • Ensuring all relevant maintenance procedures and documentation are maintained in an accurate and current status and are available on request.
  • Reporting maintenance, integrity and inspection KPI’s that drives Asset improvement for maintenance work management.
  • Where appropriate, providing input to justification for derogation requests.
  • Ensuring that the condition monitoring equipment is being utilised effectively to reduce periodic intrusive maintenance to meet the requirements of the condition monitoring strategy.
  • Working within a team of multi-discipline engineers, providing work / project progress, agreeing priorities and time schedule.
  • Providing specialist technical / engineering advice and guidance to tier 1 and offshore personnel on the operation and maintenance of plant / equipment, ensuring highest safety standards, a timely response to technical engineering queries and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Ensuring that incidents are investigated and action incident close-outs as appropriate.
  • Providing technical input to RCA process and ownership of actions that prevent recurrence.
  • Conducting ad-hoc technical surveys on site / offshore and at vendor / repair locations, providing detailed technical reports. Identifying problems and solutions and ensuring optimum performance from contractors.
  • Verifying that maintenance and inspection strategies being executed are optimal for cost and reliability to meet the Asset availability targets as per the RAM and production efficiency targets.
  • Ensuring that maintenance activities are appropriately prioritised within operations maintenance plans.
  • Preparing / reviewing scopes of work and economic justification for facility modifications, ensuring they are correctly engineered, documented, executed and closed out with new asset maintenance added to SAP in accordance with statutory / company standards.
  • Taking ownership of maintenance activities that are complex in nature.
  • Investigating more complex equipment problems as member of multi-discipline teams.

             

Experience / Qualifications:

  • An Electrical Engineering degree qualification, or similar, would be preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar asset / operations support-based Senior Electrical Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly with a North Sea-based E&P company / operator, would be preferred.
