Senior Logistics Coordinator - VR/31053

A Senior Logistics Coordinator is sought by a well-established global organisation based in Portlethen. This is a full-time, permanent position.

   

The role is responsible for managing the daily logistics operations to ensure the efficient and seamless flow of goods throughout the supply chain. It places a strong emphasis on maintaining high operational standards while adhering to internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Success in this role requires excellent organisational, problem-solving, and coordination skills.

               

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with customers and their representatives to confirm delivery requirements and resolving any shipment delays or damages.
  • Sourcing and evaluating freight quotes to secure competitive rates and appropriate transport solutions.
  • Managing relationships with logistics providers and internal teams to ensure effective service and adherence to agreed standards.
  • Reviewing and approving freight invoices and monitoring the performance of third-party logistics partners.
  • Coordinating day-to-day logistics operations to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods by air, sea, and road, both domestically and internationally.
  • Collaborating with departments.
  • Ensuring all shipping and customs documentation is accurate, complete, and accompanies all relevant consignments.
  • Following internal procedures and legal requirements for import/export compliance, including adherence to customs regulations and authorisations.
  • Managing import processes.
  • Preparing and applying for trade-related documentation.
  • Submitting required customs documentation.
  • Reconciling import/export records with internal registers for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all despatches, imports, and exports using internal tracking tools.
  • Assigning commodity codes and confirming product origin in coordination with technical and supply chain teams.
  • Monitoring logistics performance using data and KPIs, and reporting key insights to management.
  • Supporting logistics budgeting, tracking costs, and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies.
  • Developing and maintaining logistics procedures and documentation, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Identifying and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within logistics operations.

          

Applicants to this role require:

  • Experience in a logistics coordinator position.
  • Shipping experience.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of import and export procedures.
  • Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
