Senior Production Engineer - VR/31479

Currently recruiting for a Senior Production Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Aberdeen. It is a contract position that will be offered on a PAYE basis, and it is due to run until the end of September 2026.

                 

The Senior Production Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:  

  • Performing well and network hydraulics.
  • Performing detailed production optimisation, including allocation and production prognosis.
  • Performing safe injection evaluations, including basic understanding for well barriers.
  • Performing well productivity and inflow control analysis.
  • Performing planning of wells, completion design and interventions, including operational follow-up.
  • Performing sand management monitoring.
  • Performing production specialised services (e.g. well test analysis, well chemistry, cased hole logging, rock mechanics evaluation).
  • Performing production technical deliveries to field development and modification projects.
  • Analysing and integrating production data across the value chain - evaluate and communicate risk and uncertainties.
  • Contributing in multidisciplinary teams to integrate production data with other subsurface data for mapping, target identification, reservoir characterisation and well planning.
  • Collaborating with Reservoir Engineer and provide production related input for history matching, allocation uncertainty and reservoir drainage issues.

            

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Applicants should have a degree qualification in Petroleum Engineering, or similar.
  • Previous experience in a similar Senior Production / Petroleum Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly with a North Sea-based E&P company / operator, would be preferred.
  • Applicants should have experience with production engineering tools, such as Prosper, GAP, Reveal, NETool, Kappa etc.
  • Experience with production and injection management is essential.
  • Applicants should have experience with project development as well as operations.
  • Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
  • Subsea production systems.
  • Flow assurance.
  • Production log planning and analysis.
  • Rock mechanics.
  • Well completions and stimulation.
  • Reservoir engineering.
  • Artificial lift – ESP, gas lift.
  • Data analytics and scripting / programming.
