Senior Reliability Engineer - VR/21893
Currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Reliability Engineer for an oil and gas operator based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. The contract will initially last until the end of November 2020, however, it is a core role that will be eligible for annual renewal, therefore, it should be a long-term opportunity. The client is only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role. Working within the Reliability, Inspection and Maintenance Department of the NNS asset, the Senior Reliability Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the availability and reliability of the NNS plant. The post holder will lead the implementation of the asset’s conditioned base strategy, utilising Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) tools and methodologies applicable to NNS. The successful candidate will lead condition-based data collection and will support Lead Discipline Engineers in data interpretation to support campaigned maintenance and actions, leading to interventions that encompass campaign maintenance and maintenance deferrals.
Reporting to the Lead Mechanical and Reliability Engineer, the Senior Reliability Engineer will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Leading reliability reviews and studies into equipment problems and supporting discipline Engineers in proposing improvements.
- Proactively monitoring, reviewing and analysing plant and equipment performance. Providing feedback to onshore and offshore Engineers, identifying opportunities to maximise production / performance and sharing best practice across assets.
- Responsible for ensuring Equipment Failure reports are generated from site and followed up onshore for root cause analysis.
- Conducting root cause analysis on failures with Discipline Engineers, identifying clear actions and following up closure of the actions.
- Maintaining equipment criticality assessment and supporting discipline Engineers with the effectiveness of maintenance and spares strategies, ensuring the optimum level of maintenance and spares are held, supporting the assets strategy as appropriate.
- Providing a monthly presentation by discipline of status of CBM / reliability of critical equipment, clearly highlighting actions to be taken along with improvements made. On annual basis, producing a summary report on the health of the CBM being applied and the actual reliability, highlighting improvements made and actions required.
- Contributing to proposing MDCRs with Lead Discipline Engineers to optimise preventive maintenance activities.
- Preparing scopes of work for vendor services, making recommendations on preferred contractors and coordinating vendors, materials and equipment for planned and unplanned activities. Monitoring and controlling manpower usage, as well as vendor / contractor performance and expenditure. Leading, as appropriate, in vendor / contractor audits.
- Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe and effective manner and that all interventions are controlled by authorised persons, satisfy statutory and company standards and that no hazardous incidents or events occur.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline is essential.
- Chartered Engineer status, or working towards, is preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar Senior Reliability Engineer type role, within the oil and gas industry, is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an oil and gas operator, is preferred.
- Applicants will be expected to possess at least 6-10 years’ engineering experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Experience of reliability management and condition based monitoring techniques, across multiple disciplines, is essential.
- Applicants will be expected to possess broad knowledge of maintenance methods across all disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of offshore / terminal plant and equipment, as well as maintenance systems, is essential.
Applicants will be expected to be competent in the use of the CMS and SAP Maintenance Module.
