Overview job description
Our client is a Microsoft Gold Partner with specialities in Microsoft cloud and Microsoft on-premise systems. The successful candidate shall work in our Aberdeen office where she or he will work within our Service Desk Team, as senior member of the team, handling 2nd line and 3rd line support tickets whilst also assisting level 1 engineers with tickets and day to day escalations.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Microsoft End User Computing.
- Microsoft on prem Active Directory and Azure AD.
- Microsoft on premise systems such as Windows Server, Exchange Server and SQL Server.
- Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and One Drive for Business.
- Virtualisation technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Firewalls, Routers, Switches and Wireless.
- 2FA, Anti-Virus, Email Security systems.
- Server, storage, and networking hardware infrastructure(s).
- Experience in Cloud computing such as Microsoft Azure would also be desirable.
The vast majority of customer interactions will be via telephone, RMM Tools and email, however there will be on occasion a requirement to visit our customers in person. In addition to working on the service desk there will be opportunities for the successful candidate to participate in IT project work such as:
- Presales engagements
- System design
- Installations
- Migrations
Our client is seeking an individual who can:
- Work in close partnership with their senior management team to develop and enhance our managed services offerings and to help manage and grow the department.
- Deploy and support all technologies in accordance with the company’s agreed best practices and contribute to future best practice refinements.
- Maintain certification levels in the core technology set to a satisfactory minimum standard, through a combination of self-study and company provided.
- Will be eligible to live and work in the UK and hold a full UK/EU driving license.
- Will hold verifiable current technical certifications.
- Will be equally comfortable working alone, as part of a team or remote on a client site.
- Will present themselves as smart and credible, customer-facing and service-oriented.
- Will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
