Our client is a developing company that designs advanced systems and software for ATC (Air Traffic Control) with a focus on Meteorological data processing and display. Their modern system architecture has future plans for integration with the cloud, enabling a high level of capability in what we can deliver and unique flexibility for airport operators. Their products and services are an essential part of operating a modern airport.

Our client is a global leader in aviation weather technology and are experiencing great success in a market that is estimating significant growth over the next 10 to 20 years. Their technology is installed at over 50 UK airports ranging from the largest international hubs, through medium and small airports, and to local airfields.

Our client’s technology centre is based near Aberdeen Airport. Their Software Engineering and Project Engineering teams, who jointly provide system development, implementation, and support services, are both located at this site.

The Role

• Developing and testing new and existing airport software.
• Troubleshooting faults in software and providing backup to Engineers while working on site.
• Participating in quoting process.
• Point of contact for customers requiring software support.
• Promoting the companies’ systems to existing and potential customers.
• Awareness and compliance with company policies / practices / procedures including QA, HSE and HR.
• Any other duties as advised by the Software Engineering Manager.

About You

You will be an experienced Software Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of commercial experience and have gained a good honours degree in software engineering, applied computing, or other relevant discipline. We will consider alternative education paths combined with commercial experience.

Your experience will have led you to employ best practise and sound engineering principles. This experience will allow you to contribute to the ongoing development of the company’s engineering practices and procedures.

You will be experienced in developing solutions in some of these technologies: c#, MVC, Angular and SQL Server in a DevOps style environment.

This position will be right in the middle of the action therefore we need a real team player. You will have proven analytical and problem-solving skills and have a keen eye for detail. Interfacing with colleagues and clients at all levels of our business will be essential so you should feel comfortable expressing and explaining your ideas both written and verbally.
