Currently recruiting for an experienced Subsea Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. It is a contract position through until the end of December 2024, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.

    

This role would suit an experienced and degree-qualified Subsea Engineer who has extensive subsea construction, IRM and DSV-based experience. 

     

The successful candidate would be working a 37.5-hour week and this role will involve offshore travel – the approximate expectation is around 30 days per year.  Reporting directly to the Lead Subsea Operations Engineer.

     

The Subsea Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Able to identify risks and opportunities and readily takes accountability for providing optimised solutions.
  • Leading multidisciplinary engineering scopes to provide effective technical support to operated assets. Exercising authority to group of professionals engaged in complex technical issues.
  • Ensuring work processes and procedures are fit for purpose and implemented to ensure the team is consistently applying sound engineering principles and work is performed in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Working at advanced technical level, participates in planning by providing original approaches to practical and economic solutions.
  • Providing technical advice and guidance on engineering activities that affect more than one department or operated asset.
  • Planning, organising and carrying out special, complex and advanced level studies upon request.
  • Taking course of action necessary to expedite the successful completion of projects.
  • Managing engineering discipline resource requests, prioritisation, and governance processes in liaison with operated assets and functional teams.
  • Proactively managing relationships with colleagues and engineering contractors.
  • Demonstrating willingness and ability to collaborate with others to achieve key results.

      

Experience / Qualifications:

  • A relevant engineering degree qualification is essential.
  • Current / valid offshore certification would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar Subsea Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea subsea industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an E&P Company / Operator, would be preferred.
  • Applicants will be expected to have previous project engineering experience with DSVs, through working with an EPIC / Subsea Installation company.
  • Subsea construction and IRM experience are essential.
  • Experience with diving procedures and the review of isolations is essential.
  • Project delivery experience would be preferred.
  • Applicants should have experience of managing engineering contractors and service providers.
