Support a leading oil and gas operator in Westhill, Aberdeenshire as a Subsea Project Engineer. This is a 2-year project position on a PAYE basis.

        

As the Subsea Project Engineer, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Pro-actively liaising with technology, drilling, operations, contractors, sub-contractors, vendors and certifying agency teams on all aspects of the project.
  • Preparing and presenting technical dossiers.
  • Assisting with application process for required authorities’ approvals.
  • Positively representing the company at supplier premises, sites and on vessels if appropriate during offshore construction as and when required.
  • Continually seeking learning opportunities to further their technical capability and openly share knowledge with other team members.
  • Reporting any potential problems to the Project Manager in a pro-active manner.
  • Accepting delegation of authority from the Project Manager.
  • Encouraging, by example, all team members to accept personal responsibility and accountability for actions.
  • Developing effective and constructive relationships with all contractors representative(s) in a manner that enables a high level of value to be obtained for TEPUK.
  • Building strong relationships with WoS Asset Management, Drilling and WoS Field Operations Teams so as to ensure strong lines of communication are maintained at all times.
  • Positively representing the company at contractor’s premises, sites and on vessels if appropriate, during onshore and offshore construction, as and when required.

           

Interfaces Lead

  • Pro-actively managing all interface activities and actively contribute to their resolution across all areas of the project.
  • Ensuring that agreed projects battery limits are adhered to.
  • Monitoring and maintaining PIMS database activities.
  • Responsible for technical interface aspects from detailed engineering through to handover, and accepts responsibility for actions.
  • Managing contractors activities related to interfaces, including participating in regular meetings with all project contractors, with a particular emphasis on interfaces between SURF and SPS packages.
  • A key interface to contractors is the provision of CPI’s from COMPANY stock (both for SURF and SPS packages): Identify, manage, and deliver CPI’s in accordance with contract requirements by call-off via the services contract.

                

Project Engineer

  • Responsible for engineering aspects of the assigned packages, from detailed engineering through to handover, and accepts responsibility for technical actions.
  • Co-ordinating and participate to all relevant engineering reviews (Design reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, FMECA, RAM, etc.).
  • Controlling and approving, when appropriate, the specifications, requisitions, design procedures, layouts, general arrangements, drawings, P&ID’s, installation procedures, installation analyses reports, design reports, etc.
  • Actively contributing to the preparation of the pre-commissioning and commissioning/start-up activities.
  • Obtaining validation of the detailed engineering.
  • Responsible for the engineering of all equipment/facilities included in the assigned work packages.
  • Assisting Project Manager with presentation material for Governance and JV activities.
  • Coordinating project and peer reviews.
  • Ensuring that all relevant documentation created by contractors or its suppliers is reviewed and commented on by the relevant specialists within the appropriate time frame.
  • Preparing/supporting handover to WoS Field Operations/Commissioning Team.
  • Ensuring that the assigned packages are carried out in line with current UK regulations.
  • Liaison for IVB and MWS,
  • Coordinating and technical assurance of concept/Pre-FEED/FEED Studies for New Developments.

              

Key Experience/Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate technical discipline and relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas facilities design, construction and operation with offshore experience gained in the North Sea.
  • Ability to represent the company both internally and externally at a senior level.
  • Previous experience minimum as subsea engineer, ideally having worked on a large capital project from FEED to start-up.
  • Specific aspects of knowledge in:
    • Subsea design codes and standards;
    • Marine operations using Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV);
    • Techniques for managing multiple third-party interfaces to a project.
