Tax Compliance Accountant required on a permanent basis for a global communications company. This can be a completely remote position and will consider applicants-based UK wide. Although the role is titled Tax Compliance Accountant, they will consider a wide range of candidates from backgrounds such as audit, general accounting, practice, or tax. They are also willing to consider candidates at all levels who have a good working knowledge and understanding of accounting processes, year end and tax returns. Experience of established relationships working with third party accountancy firms is also preferred.

    

Reporting to the Tax Director, your role will involve:

     

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Preparing quarterly / annual tax provision packs.
  • Accounting entries for income tax payable and deferred taxes including maintaining related reconciliations.
  • Monitoring local statutory to US GAAP impacts for all entities including understanding related tax impacts.
  • Preparing Return to Provision reconciliations and ensure adjustments properly booked.
  • Monitoring compliance with all local statutory tax requirements.
  • Updating group compliance tracker and permanent reference data files.
  • Working with local advisors and Finance Teams in handling local tax audit enquiries / investigations.
  • Ensuring that all tax payments are timely made in accordance with advice from Local Advisors.
  • Providing Treasury Department with monthly cash tax forecasts for all regional entities as appropriate.
  • Updating transfer pricing calculations for regional statutory adjustments and work with Finance to properly book the adjustment where required.
  • Keeping abreast of corporate tax developments within the region and communicating their impacts where appropriate to the business.
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors on all corporate tax related matters.
  • Participating in business process and systems improvements as required as well as supporting any acquisition / merger or restructuring initiatives.
