Currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Life Extension Lead on a contract basis for an E&P company based in central Aberdeen. It is ongoing contract position that is anticipated to be a long-term opportunity. The company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.

     

Reporting to the Engineering Lead, the Technical Life Extension Lead will provide support to the Engineering and Asset Integrity Team.  They will be responsible for managing the delivery of the Technical Life Extension Project in line with the study execution plan, statement of requirements and the company’s management systems. 

      

The post holder will direct the study according to the pre-determined phased approach, which defines the application degradation mechanisms, remanent service lives and actions/resources required to achieve forecast CoP scenarios. The primary deliverable for this project is a structured breakdown of the asset, defining the timescale for intervention (overhaul, replace etc), associated CAPEX spend and offshore resources for each element of the asset hierarchy to achieve defined CoP dates.

      

The study is expected to be subcontracted in accordance with the approved study execution plan and statement of requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the subcontractor, ensuring specified requirements are adhered to. Effective coordination of the subcontractor and internal engagement with business functions (Subsea, Engineering, Operations, Integrity, Management, etc) will be essential.

      

The Technical Life Extension Lead will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Managing delivery of assigned engineering studies and projects.
  • Updating to project statement requirements, as the project develops.
  • Delivering work within assigned budgets, identifying cost savings, provising accurate cost forecasting and inputting into business planning and budget process.
  • Inputting into appropriate financial authorisation and PSCM documentation to support assigned projects, such as FMs, AFEs, CADs and SSJs.
  • Managing third-party suppliers in the execution of topsides engineering project delivery.
  • Reviewing project deliverables.
  • Coordinating discipline input into technical, safety and commercial reviews.
  • Adhering to and complying with relevant company procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Identifying business risks and providing input to the business risk register and cumulative risk process.
  • Supporting the TA framework through technical assessment of identified risks.
  • Occasionally attending offshore, on site and at meetings (regional and global) may be required.
  • Maintaining an appreciation of emerging discipline technologies that could improve the asset performance.

     

Experience/Qualifications:

  • An Engineering Degree qualification would be preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly within the North Sea Oil and Gas industry, is essential.
  • Direct Operator experience would be preferred.
  • Proven track record in project delivery and third-party management is essential.
  • Interface management experience is essential.
  • Asset operations experience is essential.
  • EPC experience - covering Concept, FEED and Detailed Design – is essential.
