You can build websites that deliver a great user experience and look fantastic, but have you ever wondered if the sites you’ve built make a difference to anyone’s life?

Help shmu amplify the sound of under-represented voices across the city, celebrate our communities, and tackle negative stereotypes through the power of digital media.

You’ll do this by:

  • Designing, developing and launching a new website that showcases shmu’s digital capabilities and range of activities.
  • Working alongside Connected Communities representatives to support them create and develop community websites for each of the 7 regeneration areas of the city.
  • Delivering training in website development and structured content alongside shmu’s Foundation Apprenticeship Delivery Team in schools.
  • Identifying opportunities for the creation of third-party websites, commercialising shmu's in-house capabilities.

You need to be a geeky, creative, communicator.

Geek: Passionate about your craft, it’s essential you can demonstrate web design experience and a varied portfolio of design and build projects.

Creative: Contribute to shmu’s creative direction and take projects from brief to completion by creating innovative designs and high-quality work while managing competing deadlines and demands.

Communicator: The ability to explain concepts and talk with non-technical people in a way that is collaborative and non-judgemental.
