Well Engineer - CCS - VR/26556
Currently recruiting for an experienced Well Engineer - CCS on a contract basis for an E&P company based in central Aberdeen. It is a 12-month contract position, and the company are open to taking on either a PAYE or a Ltd Co contractor.
The Well Engineer – CCS will be responsible for well and completion concept selection, design, planning, programming and operations management across the Company’s operated portfolio.
Reporting to the Head of Well Engineering, UK, the Well Engineer – CCS will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Assessing existing technology for application on CCS projects.
- Progressing CCS wells through the full lifecycle – license application, through to detailed design and execution.
- Preparing all well programmes in compliance with local statutory requirements and company
- corporate policies, standards and procedures.
- Managing the well planning process as per the Well Delivery Process (WDP) and ensuring compliance.
- Technical Lead for assigned contracts. Responsible for managing the agreed relationship with service providers and in setting the KPIs with the contract owner and C&P Specialist.
- Preparing scoping, budgetary and AFE level completion costs. Monitoring field costs and analyse variances.
- Monitoring and measuring performance against expectations. Analysing variances and acting as a focal point for lessons learned.
- Effective liaison and communication with the Subsurface and Drilling and Wells Management Teams.
- Implementing lessons learned system and championing of all performance improvement initiatives applicable to well completions performance.
- Maintaining and updating completions, workover and well services documentation and data.
- Application of functional specifications to deliver optimum completion designs.
- Ensuring that completions operations meet agreed budget and objectives.
- Optimising performance, where possible, by appropriate application of new technology.
- Accurate and timely reporting of all completions activities.
- Maintaining end of well records, lessons learned and complete well files.
- Encouraging good, open communications with contractors – promoting a culture of involvement and participation.
- Compliance with well examination process.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A relevant engineering degree qualification would be preferred.
- IWCF Well Control certification is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar Well Engineer type role, within the oil & gas industry, is essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an E&P company / operator, would be preferred.
- Experience in completion, well test, workover engineering and site supervision is essential.
- Applicants will be expected to possess a broad range of well engineering and operations experience, covering drilling, completions, P&A and interventions.
