Well Intervention Engineer (Project) - VR/25376
Currently recruiting for an experienced Well Intervention Engineer on a contract basis for an oil and gas operator based in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. The Light Well Intervention Campaign is due to start in September 2022 - therefore, the client requires onshore support for this project position, which is anticipated to last for 9-12 months. The company is only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role. Offshore travel will likely be required - therefore, applicants must be prepared to work offshore.
The Well Intervention Engineer will be expected to optimise well intervention operations – ensuring that designs and programmes are fit for purpose. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the company’s platform and subsea operated well interventions across all company assets – ensuring safety, technical and commercial performance.
Reporting to the Well Intervention and Treatment Team Leader, the Well Intervention Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Liaising with the Well Examiner to ensure programmes are in line with the Well Examination Scheme.
- Participating in risk assessments, HAZOPs or HAZIDs when required.
- Providing engineering and technical solutions to well intervention challenges by positively participating in multi-disciplinary teams in well planning preparation, peer reviews, risk assessments and execution of operations.
- Preparing well intervention designs / programmes / end of well reports and coordinating other specialist inputs.
- Interfacing appropriately with assets and other drilling / wells entities to ensure Well Intervention requests are promptly and accurately prepared.
- Active participation in performance monitoring, analysis and reporting.
- Working with Superintendents to ensure that all services are planned and performed in a safe manner, to the required standard using good oilfield practice.
- Developing estimated cost and duration for interventions or elements of specific operations. Following the status of WTI contracts and WTI expenditures.
- Initiating and preparing CFTs with concerned personnel when required.
- As required, performing visits and audits of service companies.
- Performing offshore visits as required to support offshore operations.
Experience / Qualifications:
- A relevant Engineering degree (Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering) qualification would be preferred.
- IWCF Level 4 certification is essential.
- Current / valid offshore certification would be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar Well Intervention Engineer type role, within the oil and gas industry, is essential.
- Experience in well servicing and completions is essential.
