The Well Intervention Engineer will be expected to optimise well intervention operations – ensuring that designs and programmes are fit for purpose.  The post holder will be responsible for supporting the company’s platform and subsea operated well interventions across all company assets – ensuring safety, technical and commercial performance. 

Reporting to the Well Intervention and Treatment Team Leader, the Well Intervention Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

• Liaising with the Well Examiner to ensure programmes are in line with the Well Examination Scheme.
• Participating in risk assessments, HAZOPs or HAZIDs when required.
• Providing engineering and technical solutions to well intervention challenges by positively participating in multi-disciplinary teams in well planning preparation, peer reviews, risk assessments and execution of operations.
• Preparing well intervention designs / programmes / end of well reports and coordinating other specialist inputs.
• Interfacing appropriately with assets and other drilling / wells entities to ensure Well Intervention requests are promptly and accurately prepared.
• Active participation in performance monitoring, analysis and reporting.
• Working with Superintendents to ensure that all services are planned and performed in a safe manner, to the required standard using good oilfield practice.
• Developing estimated cost and duration for interventions or elements of specific operations. Following the status of WTI contracts and WTI expenditures.
• Initiating and preparing CFTs with concerned personnel when required.
• As required, performing visits and audits of service companies.
• Performing offshore visits as required to support offshore operations.

Experience / Qualifications:

• A relevant Engineering degree (Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering) qualification would be preferred.
• IWCF Level 4 certification is essential.
• Current / valid offshore certification would be preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar Well Intervention Engineer type role, within the oil and gas industry, is essential.
• Experience in well servicing and completions is essential.
