Three Peaks Challenge Champs

12th August 2019

Before we knew it the mighty Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Mental Health Aberdeen was upon us. We had all dedicated ourselves to training for months in an effort to reach the summits of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in under 24 hours.

Along with friends from Apache North Sea and Subsea 7 we departed from Aberdeen at 6am to Fort William to begin our challenge on the country's highest peak - Ben Nevis. A tremendously successful ascent supported by the expert guides from Active Mountaineering set us on our way to England's Scafell Pike in high spirits.

However, atrocious storm and flooding weather conditions turned our gas to a peep with many hitting the Scafell Pike wall. Onwards to Snowdon and the weather improved but it remained "soaked right through to your underwear" wet and cold.

However, these conditions didn't deter the absolutely awesome Callum Robertson and Dessy Zhelyazkova from Team TMR who both achieved the challenge in well under 24 hours - a very impressive 23.5 hours in fact.

This challenge was great and grim, a culmination of highs and lows but, most importantly, we knew our efforts were raising money for Mental Health Aberdeen. These two short videos capture our adventure in images rather than words - enjoy. If you would like to donate, it is not to late, please visit our MHA fundraising page.
