Travel Junkie With An Eye For Detail
Taking a long way around, Colin returned to TMM Recruitment in April 2021 to head up our IT specialism. We’ve whittled down the tale to just the key plot points.
Colin's first foray from home was from his native Inverness to study Law at the University of Aberdeen. After graduating, and whetting his appetite for exploring, he was forced to face reality that the call to play for AFC was never going to come. Not tempted by the legal profession as a career, he joined Thorpe Molloy, as it was then, as a trainee consultant in Accountancy & Finance in 2005.
After a fantastic couple of years, the wider world beckoned, and the path really started to meander. The resulting journey has taken in numerous locations, near (Glasgow) and far (New Zealand), and a few in between (Japan), all the while gathering a breadth of recruitment experience in a variety of sectors, including financial services and healthcare, as well as forays into teaching and the travel industry.
But the prodigal son is back where he belongs at TMM Recruitment and, with youthful expertise provided by teammates Taylor Hobbs and Cara Gardiner, he has embraced his role leading our IT and Legal specialisms.
