Accounts Assistant – Part Time - VR/32737

An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day accounting duties of a busy team. This role is responsible for managing purchase ledger activities, sales invoicing, bookkeeping, reconciliations and expense administration while helping to maintain accurate financial records and effective financial processes. The successful candidate will work across a variety of finance and administrative tasks, supporting the smooth running of the organisation's financial operations. This role is part-time and would be suited to someone looking for 3-4 days per week.

     

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier invoices from receipt through to approval and payment, ensuring accurate coding, allocation and record keeping.
  • Maintain supplier accounts, resolve invoice queries and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices, ensuring they are accurate, issued on time and aligned with agreed requirements.
  • Monitor outstanding payments, follow up overdue invoices and manage payment-related queries.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, process transactions and carry out regular bank and account reconciliations.
  • Support month-end activities by providing financial information and assisting with the resolution of discrepancies.
  • Assist with VAT return preparation and payroll administration, maintaining accurate records and liaising with external providers where required.
  • Process employee and company expenses, ensuring appropriate documentation is provided and costs are accurately recorded.
  • Track rechargeable costs and prepare invoices for expenses that need to be recovered.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and provide general finance and administrative support as required.

      

About You:

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping position.
  • Good understanding of purchase ledger, sales invoicing and bank reconciliations.
  • Experience maintaining accurate financial records and processing financial transactions.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicating with internal and external contacts to resolve queries effectively.
