Accounts Assistant - VR/32153
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a busy Finance Team based west of Aberdeen. This full-time, permanent role offers hybrid working and exposure to a varied workload across multiple entities. Key responsibilities include supporting month-end processes, maintaining the general ledger, preparing bank and balance sheet reconciliations, processing invoices, and assisting with tax compliance and reporting. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all financial tasks. This role is well suited to someone with at least two years’ experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Reporting to the Accountant and Finance Director, your duties will be:
- Maintaining accounting records for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with group policies.
- Supporting month-end close processes, including preparation and posting of journals.
- Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Processing sales invoices and ensuring accurate recording of revenue and transactions.
- Assisting with tax compliance by preparing information and analysis for advisors.
- Preparing and submitting statutory and National Statistics returns.
- Setting up and processing payments, including manual and BACS runs.
- Liaising with internal teams and external contacts to support finance operations.
- Providing ad-hoc reporting and assisting the wider Finance Team as required.
