An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a growing organisation in Aberdeen. You'll support a wide range of accounting and administration activities, including invoice processing, credit control, and month-end reporting. This role is ideal for someone with previous accounts administration experience or an individual looking to gain hands-on exposure within a finance environment.

    

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Managing daily invoice processing and ensuring financial records are maintained accurately.
  • Supporting accounts payable and receivable activities, helping to keep transactions running smoothly.
  • Assisting with account reconciliations and preparing information for month-end reporting.
  • Monitoring customer accounts and supporting credit control activities where required.
  • Investigating and resolving payment and account queries from customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintaining accurate records across finance systems and ensuring data integrity.
  • Processing petty cash and supporting routine financial administration tasks.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency within the finance function.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with internal procedures and financial controls.
  • Working independently to manage priorities and deliver a high standard of administrative and financial support.

               

Applicants to this role require

  • Experience in an accounts, finance or administrative position, or a genuine interest in pursuing a career within finance.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and methodically.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A confident and professional communication style.
  • The ability to work independently and take responsibility for managing their workload.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office packages, including Excel.
  • Exposure to accounting software would be an advantage
  • A proactive, reliable and adaptable approach to work.
  • The motivation to learn new skills and develop within a varied finance role
