Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of overdue customer accounts, taking clear ownership of collection activity and outcomes.
• Make a high volume of outbound calls to secure payments and firm payment commitments.
• Address payment delays and non-payment directly while maintaining professional customer relationships.
• Follow up consistently on agreed payment dates until funds have been received.
• Negotiate appropriate payment arrangements while remaining mindful of cash flow requirements.
• Focus collection activity on reducing long-outstanding and higher-risk debt.
• Escalate persistent non-payment and accounts presenting an increased financial risk.
• Work with relevant internal teams to identify and resolve issues preventing payment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of collection conversations, commitments and results.
• Contribute to agreed cash collection targets and measurable reductions in overdue balances.

About you

• Proven experience in debt recovery, collections, credit control or accounts receivable, ideally involving complex or international customer accounts.
• A strong record of collecting overdue debt by telephone and working towards cash collection targets.
• Confident handling challenging payment conversations, objections and broken commitments.
• Assertive, resilient and persistent, with the ability to remain professional and diplomatic.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, target-focused environment with limited supervision.
