Balance Sheet Accountant - VR/31730
An interim position (6 months) is available for an experienced Balance Sheet Accountant to support a busy Finance Team. This role is well suited to an individual with strong technical accounting skills, a thorough approach, and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
As Balance Sheet Accountant, you will be responsible for reviewing all balance sheet reconciliations and related processes, investigating reconciling items, and ensuring that all balances are accurate, compliant, and fully supported. You will contribute to maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting an effective control environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing all balance sheet accounts in line with company policies and accounting standards.
- Investigating and resolving reconciling items, discrepancies, and variances.
- Maintaining and documenting accurate reconciliation schedules with full supporting documentation.
- Preparing journal entries and adjustments to ensure correct general ledger balances.
- Reviewing current balance sheet reconciliation processes and identifying or implementing improvements.
About You:
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly around balance sheet control.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
