Business Development Manager - VR/32340
Business Development Manager role within international freight, focused on generating new business and expanding existing markets. Based in Aberdeen, this is a permanent opportunity suited to someone who thrives in a target-driven, outward-facing sales environment.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within key sectors including energy, engineering and industrial markets.
- Developing and executing a structured sales plan to generate and convert new leads.
- Engaging prospective and existing clients through a mix of meetings, calls and networking activity.
- Managing the full sales lifecycle from initial contact through to negotiation and close.
- Preparing tailored proposals and commercial solutions aligned to client requirements.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to support long-term growth.
- Maintaining an active and accurate pipeline using CRM systems.
- Monitoring market activity and competitor positioning to support sales strategy.
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients.
- Consistently achieving and exceeding agreed sales and activity targets.
Applicants to this role require
- Proven experience in a business development role within freight, logistics or related sectors.
- Strong track record of winning new clients and delivering against revenue targets.
- Experience selling complex or solution-based services in a B2B environment.
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working autonomously.
- Commercially aware with a results-driven mindset.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
