Overview job description:

We are looking for someone who demonstrates real enthusiasm, collaboration, and a genuine “roll-your-sleeves-up” approach. The successful candidate will be joining at an exciting stage in the UK growth, where they will have the opportunity to leverage their existing skills while continuing to develop professionally as the business expands.

      

The role will play a key part in supporting the UK business planning cycle and delivering robust JV accounting and partner reporting, ensuring compliance with UK regulations, joint operating agreements, and company policies. The position will also involve close collaboration with internal stakeholders and JV partners, helping to ensure alignment and supporting effective financial decision-making.

      

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting the annual UK business plan process by preparing documentation and analysis for review and approval by the Finance Manager and Department Heads.
  • Performing joint venture accounting activities, including the monthly JV billing process, AFE (Authority for Expenditure) approvals and supplements, partner forecasts, and Finance Committee materials.
  • Preparing monthly internal P&L and balance sheet reviews for submission to the Finance Manager.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate accounting and maintenance of the books of accounts in line with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Preparing partner reporting, including quarterly reporting of actuals vs forecast and budget, quarterly reforecasting, and the annual JV partner budget, in consultation with relevant departments.
  • Coordinating annual JV (partner) audits by providing information, analysis, and support to ensure findings are minimised and compliance is maintained.
  • Assisting in financial modelling, forecasting, and economic analysis for business development opportunities as directed by the Finance Manager.

      

Applicants to this role require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Qualified Accountant (professional body or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5–7 years relevant experience in Oil and Gas, including joint venture accounting, with knowledge of UK legislation and experience working with a UK operator.
  • Experience of financial and tax modelling in the Energy Industry is an advantage.
