Buyer (International – Drilling Equipment) - VR/31964
Supporting the construction of a new modular drilling rig, this role sits within an international energy services business delivering drilling and well engineering projects across multiple markets. The position focuses on international supplier engagement and procurement of drilling equipment and rig construction components, managing complex supply requirements across international markets. Strong international procurement experience and knowledge of drilling equipment supply chains are fundamental to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procuring goods and services to support drilling project requirements.
- Identifying, evaluating and onboarding suppliers across international markets.
- Participating in international contract negotiations covering pricing, commercial terms and service agreements.
- Monitoring supplier performance through KPIs relating to quality, delivery, cost and compliance.
- Managing supplier risk and supporting continuity across international supply chains.
- Raising and placing purchase orders, including equipment procurement, repairs and rentals, maintaining accurate records within IFS.
- Coordinating domestic and international freight movements for project materials and equipment.
- Expediting orders and producing tracking and progress reports.
- Reviewing and processing supplier invoices in line with contractual terms and pricing agreements.
- Supporting project and warehouse teams on procurement matters and order status.
- Assisting in the development of sourcing strategies to drive improvements in cost, quality and delivery performance.
- Supporting supplier performance reviews and managing non-conformance reporting.
About you:
- Procurement experience within an international drilling or oilfield services environment.
- Demonstrable experience in international supplier markets and cross-border purchasing.
- Strong working knowledge of drill rigs, drilling equipment and associated supply requirements.
- Experience negotiating commercial terms and managing supplier performance.
- Proficient in ERP systems, ideally IFS.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Working towards or holding a CIPS qualification preferred.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to perform effectively within a project-driven environment.
