Commercial Advisor - VR/31705

Status: Temp/Contract
Location: Aberdeen City Centre, AB11
Rate: To be discussed (PAYE day rate)

This position sits within the commercial function of an upstream operator and supports joint venture activity, project-related work and a range of asset and infrastructure matters across its UK and overseas portfolio. You’ll work closely with operations, engineering and other functions on agreements, asset issues and project activity, helping to develop practical solutions and support day to day decision making. The contract runs through to the end of 2026 and the role is fully office based in Aberdeen City Centre.

     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing an understanding of the suite of agreements covering assets, pipeline infrastructure and terminal operations, and apply this knowledge to support business needs.
  • Implementing company led contract administration obligations and managing joint venture administrative requirements.
  • Working with operational and engineering teams to understand ongoing issues requiring commercial input.
  • Working with multi discipline teams to develop and progress commercially based strategies.
  • Building a sound understanding of the technical conditions behind commercial matters and using this to support the development of appropriate solutions.
  • Developing solutions that consider all commercially viable options and likely stakeholder positions.
  • Engaging with joint venture partners and third parties to support communication, contract compliance and the progression of agreed strategies.
  • Supporting the marketing and implementation of oil and gas sales contracts.
  • Providing relevant commercial information to support A&D and transition activity.
  • Ensuring compliance with the applicable Commercial Code of Practice and Infrastructure Code of Practice.
  • Travelling when required to assist with resolving commercial issues.

      

About You:

  • Experience in a similar Commercial Advisor role within the energy sector.
  • Understanding of financial and economic drivers relating to field operations and commercial models.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work with senior stakeholders.
  • Able to prioritise varied workloads and work independently when required.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable contributing within multi discipline teams.
  • Professional qualification relevant to a commercial discipline.
