Manage contractual and commercial activities within an engineering and project delivery environment, providing support from tendering and negotiation through to project execution, amendments and claims management. Working closely with commercial, project, engineering and supply chain teams, the role focuses on protecting commercial interests, managing contractual risk and ensuring contractual obligations are effectively administered across the project lifecycle.

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support tendering and procurement activities, including review of bid documentation and contribution to commercial strategy.
  • Review client contracts to identify contractual risks, obligations and commercial opportunities.
  • Draft and negotiate contractual deviations, clarifications and amendments.
  • Lead contract negotiations with clients, partners and subcontractors.
  • Provide contractual advice during bid, tendering and project delivery phases.
  • Support the development of contract strategies and risk allocation approaches.
  • Draft, review and negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements and other contractual documentation.
  • Ensure effective contractual handover from award through to project delivery.
  • Manage contract amendments, variations, claims and counterclaims.
  • Support dispute avoidance and contractual issue resolution activities.
  • Ensure contractual correspondence and records are maintained in line with governance requirements.
  • Provide ongoing contractual guidance to project, commercial, engineering and supply chain teams.
  • Support negotiation of subcontract and procurement terms and conditions.
  • Ensure subcontract agreements reflect relevant client contract obligations and requirements.

About You:

  • Proven experience in contract negotiation, commercial management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, commercial terms and risk management principles.
  • Experience working with standard forms of contract such as LOGIC, NEC, IChemE and FIDIC.
  • Background within sectors such as engineering, construction, energy or professional services.
  • Experience supporting claims preparation, dispute management and contract administration activities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contractual and commercial language.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Degree qualified in Law, Quantity Surveying, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
